Runtime and deployment
A discord.js bot needs a compatible Node.js runtime; discord.py needs a compatible Python runtime. In either case, keep the process running, configure the bot token as a secret and inspect startup logs after deployment.
Make a maintainable choice
Choose the library the maintainers can debug and update confidently. Prototype the bot, verify its permissions and memory use, and avoid selecting a language based only on assumptions about speed.
